Q 17:
What is the ruling on a son whose parents exchanged Li`an (oath of condemning a spouse of adultery)? Is this son a legitimate or an illegitimate child?
A:
If the legal Li`an is made, the baby is related to his mother, not the person who made the Li`an against her. The son does not inherit this man as is authentically reported from the Prophet (peace be upon him). May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
